Portland four piece Eat Skull are merchants of the perfect pop song – that is, in their own frantic-fuzzy-beach-punk way. These guys take absolute pop gems and bury them in a murky heap of lo-fi fuzz, forcing listeners to open their ears and pick out the gold inside. With a band made up of members of legendary U.S acts Gris Gris and Hospitals, you know that Eat Skull will deliver one of the best live shows in town. Their latest LP Wild + Inside is available now through Siltbreeze Records (Dead C, Guided By Voices, Tyvek etc.)

After garnering huge levels of hype for their first album Down on the Meat, Brisbane’s Slug Guts went straight to the studio and emerged with their second long player, Howlin’ Gang. This record sees the band sign to eminent NY label Sacred Bones alongside acts like Zola Jesus and Blank Dogs and will be released in Australia by Brisbane-based Bedroom Suck Records. The new album still captures the staggering, harsh moves of their first LP, all the while melding with a more focused direction.
