Format’s annual visual arts program kicks off with a week-long reprise of Sophia Simmons’ collaborative event, first held during the 2011 Format Festival.
It goes like this: there will be a lot of materials, there will be the upstairs gallery, and there will be you. Everything that is created is open to be added to. Build on what is already there, try not be too precious and go crazy!
SATURDAY MAY 28
2pm
Format opens for anyone and everyone who wants to make something.
6pm
Opening Party – come and see what has been made, get involved and add to the work, maybe stick around for the party later that night.
SATURDAY JUNE 4
6pm
Closing Party – a chance to see how the work has evolved, make last minute contributions and bask in what has been created.
Come and join in the mutation or come during the week to contribute in private. Do something small, do something big, bring your family, bring people you don’t know, get involved or simply observe, be brave, but most importantly just be there.
