Peel Street Moving Image Project
Saturday 6th Aug 2011
Format Collective, the SALA Moving Image Project and Adelaide City Council present a brash experiment in outdoor partying.
Every Saturday in August, between 6pm and roughly 10:30, Peel Street will be closed to automotive traffic. In its place will be
* Couches
* Projections
* Gourmet burgers
* Beer
* Handball
* You
THAT’S RIGHT. For the next four Saturdays we’ll be able to sit on a couch in the middle of Peel Street and drink a beer. It’ll be like we all won a war, or became the Mayor.
Each night will include a program of Format events, a huge screen featuring some of our favourite visual artists, the Burger Theory gourmet burger truck and performances of ‘In Entity and Appearance’ – a strange idea involving eerie music, a projector and weirdos dressed in sheets.
All this plus the highly anticipated unveiling of the Peel Street Lantern – an ingeniously miniaturised LED version of that thing in Rundle Mall, courtesy of Adelaide HackerSpace.
YOU’RE WELCOME.
