You’re Welcome

Format Festival is an award-winning artist-run festival that celebrates and explores the creative community, showcasing visual, urban and experimental art; as well as zines, live music, craft, activism, performance and discussion. Including infamous opening and closing night parties, the Adelaide Zine & DIY Fair and some of Australia’s best underground live musicians, you might call it Adelaide’s fringe of the Fringe.

The 2011 Festival was paid for by Arts SA, the Adelaide City Council and Beer™.

The 2012 Festival was held September 29 to October 7.  Here’s a festival program we prepared earlier:

2012 Program

2011 Program

WINNER of the Best of the Adelaide Fringe 2010 award for Best Exhibition by a Collective. (We feel like they made up this category just so we could win something, which was nice. It came with a trophy and 500 bucks in CASH. Like, actual cash. Crisp bills, neatly folded, in an envelope. Oh man, we partied that night. I mean, seriously, we fuckin’ bent it. We bent it til it broke.)

WINNER of the 2010 Arts SA Ruby award for Arts Enterprise. (The trophy is very pretty, but there’s no engraving. Which is cool, but some folks think it’s something we picked up at an op shop. IT’S NOT FROM AN OP SHOP MUM THIS IS WHAT I DO NOW.)

WINNER of The Thousands Awards – Best OUT and Best OVERALL THING 2011. (Less of a prize for how good we are and more of a prize for how good we are at telling people how good we are. Thousand bucks though. Bam.)

ARGUABLY more fun than the Clipsal 500.
